2021 La Rocca, Bardolino
2021 La Rocca, Bardolino
ABV: 13.5%
Grapes: Corvina, Rondinella
From: Veneto, Italy
Brilliant ruby with a delicate garnet edge. Compact nose with notes of ripe cherries, some blood orange and thyme. Delicate tannin at the beginning, builds up well, fine grip in the finish, light bitter note.
Try this if your like lighter Pinot Noirs or cru Beaujolais.
Right at the heart of the traditional wine growing region of Bardolino, the estate Azienda Agricola Casaretti is located among morainic hills on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. Relying on over 100 years of tradition, they produce all of the wines that are typical of the region, e.g. “Bardolino Classico”, “Bardolino Chiaretto” and “Chiaretto Spumante Brut”. Quality is high, yields limited and organic agriculture helps minimise the environmental impact.
Medium bodied red so room temperature-ish, although could easily take being chilled if you wanted. Works well with pork, chicken or duck. Alternatively most pasta dishes as long as not too spicy.
