TRY ME IF YOU LOVE: Something a little different for an oaked Chardonnay fan.

ABV: 12.5%

GRAPES: 100% Viura

TASTING NOTES: Blend of Viura and half a dozen other grapes from an experimental vineyard in Rioja. Clean lemony flavours buttressed by a hint of butter from the lees.

PAIRS WITH: Great with tapas, white meats, seafood, or vegetarian food.

SERVE ME: Serve chilled. Allow 2 to 3 hours to cool in the fridge. 

Dedicating the Gran Cerdo label (which translates to Big Pig in Spanish) to the bank executives who wouldn't give him a loan to start his wine business, Gonzalo Grijalba has developed a bit of a cult following. He's extremely passionate about reclaiming the biodiversity of the earth he farms, and has eschewed more commercial practices involving pesticides and herbicides for more biodynamic methods.
