TRY ME IF YOU LOVE: Pinot Grigio but want to try a skin contact wine

GRAPES: 100% Catarratto

TASTING NOTES: Expect a rich, pithy fruit character with ripe melon, grapefruit, sage and white flowers underpinned by a saline freshness. Far too drinkable. Excellent value and a great starting point for trying skin contact wines.

PAIRS WITH: Amazing with something like a cauliflower and apricot tagine.

SERVE ME: Cold, pop it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

The Vesco family took over the Ciello winery 10 years ago and have since revolutionised the vineyard practices and invested heavily in cutting-edge technology for the winery and bottling line.

Their hundred hectares of organic vineyards are located high up in the hills above Alcamo. The wines are all certified organic and planted on south-east facing slopes on sandy soils 150 – 300m above sea level. The climate is well suited for producing the best quality grapes. Night harvesting and modern temperature-controlled fermentations result in a bright, fresh wine. The wines are unfiltered and have a hazy appearance.
