TRY ME IF YOU LOVE: Pinot Gris

GRAPES: 100% Pinot Grigio.

TASTING NOTES: Straw yellow, on the nose floral notes and full and round in the mouth. Pear, green apple and a touch of stone fruit on the palate with notes of honey and walnut as it opens up. This is a Pinot Grigio of quality, not the watery, cheap neutral stuff....

PAIRS WITH: Mushroom risotto, fish and seafood.

SERVE ME: Chilled pop in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Pinot Grigio Sudtirol Garlinder, organic wine from the slopes of the beautiful Eisack valley (Valle Isarco) in Alto-Adige just south of Bressanone.  Pinot Grigio (called Ruländer) grapes are grown on south facing slopes surrounded by lush green meadows and below dramatic mountain peaks.  The wine maker Christian Kerschbaumer runs the 4 hectare domaine with his family and makes wines from local grapes working organically in the vines and naturally in the cellar.
