Founded in 1909 by 33 local farmers, the Fruitière Vinicole de Pupillin was created during a difficult period for Jura’s winegrowers. Starting with just 23 hectares, the cooperative survived two World Wars and helped establish the Arbois AOC in the 1930s, France’s first wine appellation. From the 1960s, a renewed focus on viticulture and mechanisation drove rapid growth, reaching 70 hectares by the turn of the millennium and establishing the Fruitière as an important part of Jura’s wine heritage.
Le Glanon Trousseau is produced from 20-year-old vines in the l'Huguenette vineyard, planted on red Triassic marl. The wine undergoes semi-carbonic maceration for 10-15 days, followed by fermentation with native yeasts in wooden vats, and is aged for 6-8 months in foudre. It is bottled without filtration, fining, or added sulphites.
