TASTING NOTES: Juicy fresh red fruits, sour cherry and crunchy red apple, with a light natural fizz. Fermented and preserved naturally under carbonic gas, without sulphites.

This wine is not your typical Bordeaux. It is made with a technique called carbonic maceration, which is more common in the Beaujolais region.
Chateau Picoron are an Australian-owned, Bordeaux-based producer, producing low-sulphite, single-vineyard wines from Merlot vines planted on the famous clay and limestone ridge of Saint-Emilion. However, they chose not to adhere to the regulations of Saint-Emilion AOC, instead following the Ouvipo philosophy of sustainable, natural winemaking with minimal intervention. They therefore sell their wines as Vin de France.
