TRY ME IF YOU LOVE: Orange / Skin contact wine

ABV: 11.5%

GRAPES: 100% Chenin Blanc

TASTING NOTES: Fresh and expressive, with layers of mandarin, yellow apple, and preserved lemon, lifted by gentle herbal notes and a dry, mineral backbone. There's a little bit of grip from the skins, but not too much. 

PAIRS WITH: Spiced cauliflower, tagines, grilled chicken or mild and soft cheese.

SERVE ME: Chilled, pop in the fridge for an hour or so.

After travelling extensively in Portugal and Austria learning his craft, Craig Hawkins returned to South Africa and became the winemaker at top Swartland estate Lammershoek.  Craig now makes his own Testalonga wines from various small, organic vineyard sites in Swartland and makes everything naturally, with as little intervention as possible. 'Baby Bandito' is his easy drinking, entry-level range.

Stay Brave is the orange wine of the Baby Bandito range - it is Chenin Blanc with a week or so of skin maceration, followed by some rounding out in old barrels. It is softer in structure to Keep On Punching, but still with lots of zesty acidity, joined by notes of ripe pear and spicy ginger. Like all of the Baby Bandito range, this wine gives a lot bang for your buck.
