TRY ME IF YOU LOVE: Unoaked Chardonnay
ABV: 12.5%
GRAPES: 100% Chardonnay
TASTING NOTES: Lemon curd and chamomile flowers on the nose, and more on the palate, as well as ripe yellow pear and some chalky minerality. Smooth and dry with lovely high acidity and a creamy mouthfeel.
PAIRS WITH: Great aperitif, but equally great with asparagus, goat cheese, fish and white meats.
SERVE ME: Chilled, pop in the fridge for a couple of hours
The father-son duo of Noël and Loïc Bulliat currently head up the family estate, with Loïc being the seventh generation to do so. Many changes in the acquisition of parcels since its creation in 1780 led the vineyard to spread over almost 28 hectares of vineyards distributed over eight appellations, including the five “Crus”: Morgon, Fleurie, Chénas, Chiroubles, and Moulin à Vent. Only natural products are used in the vineyard, and grass is grown between the vines to limit yields. The vineyard has been certified organic since 2013, utilising some biodynamic treatments, and an overall ethos of minimal intervention both in viticulture and winemaking.
