Silvio Meletti started in Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region. In 1870, he aimed to improve the popular anisette liqueur. He worked hard to make the recipe better. His efforts led to a smoother, finer anise-flavoured spirit. This became the Meletti Anisette. It was known for its great taste and unique double distillation process.
